FOUNDER AND CEO
As one of the most well-known and respected rights administration and licensing experts in the industry, Mary Jo Mennella is the owner and Founder/CEO of Music Asset Management, Inc. (MAM), a leading independent music publishing and consulting company she founded in 2006. Mennella is also a founder of Pulse Publishing Administration, a Top 10 U.S. music publisher (2018 Billboard publishing marketshare charts) and AIMP’s 2018 “Indie Publisher of the Year” (along with Pulse Music Publishing). Pulse Publishing Administration is a venture she helped launch in 2014 and continues to exclusively manage for the Pulse Music Group. For decades, Mennella has been a successful and passionate entrepreneur dedicated to rights management. With expansive worldwide relationships and broad experience, her company manages administration for a multitude of rights owners and creators, including world renowned songwriters and composers, film and TV studios, music publishers and other media companies. She has also been at the forefront of the digital landscape, helping top tier companies navigate and thrive throughout the evolution of distribution platforms in all media. Prior to launching Music Asset Management, Mennella was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Music Publishing at Fox Filmed Entertainment where she was charged with overseeing the publishing and master recording catalogs for 20th Century Fox, (Titanic), Fox Broadcasting (The SIMPSONS), and affiliated production units. Before joining Fox, Mennella was a key executive at Saban Entertainment and at ASCAP, where she began her career in the entertainment business. An accomplished musician, an advocate for creators’ rights, and a champion of songwriters, Mennella serves on the board of the Independent Music Publishers e-Licensing (IMPEL), as well as the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Mennella has also been the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s West Coast Chair since 2010. Among her many philanthropic efforts and industry affiliations, Mennella is a Past Chairman of the Music & Entertainment Industry for City of Hope and a Past President of the AIMP.
